There are two types of grocery shoppers- those who have time for it and those who don’t.
Both are dangerous.
When you have time to grocery shop, you likely go aisle by aisle, browsing all of the different products and options.
When you’re in a rush, your chances of impulse purchases are very high- whatever can get you out of there fast!
On top of that, both types of shopping bring you to the inner aisles of the grocery store.

First, let’s talk about what you find on the outer aisles that frame the store.
When you walk into your local store you’ll notice that it is framed in basic needs; fresh produce, fresh meat and seafood, fresh dairy, and typically frozen versions of all of those.
When you venture into the aisles that fill the outer frame you’ll find breads and baked goods, cookies and crackers, junk food, baking ingredients, chips and sugary drinks, pasta and canned goods, as well as frozen foods ranging from pizza to ice cream.
It can be argued that some perfectly healthy items can be found in the inner aisles, but let me ask you, do you really need any of it?
I’m not referring to vitamins, shampoo, garbage bags or cleaner… I’m talking about the packaged, processed, sugary/flour-filled foods that can somehow have a shelf life of 8 months.
Do you really need it?
Could you find a substitute in the outer frame?
Could you replace your sweet cookie with a sweet fruit?
Could you replace your sugary drink with fruit-infused water?
How about replacing spaghetti with NuPasta or zucchini spirals?
Take a minute to think about how different our energy levels, waistlines, and attitudes would be if we only shopped in the outer aisles!
