After 8 years of coaching and training clients, the #1 excuse I hear is “I don’t have the time” with weight loss and fitness. The reality is you value other things higher than weight loss and fitness.
We all have 86,400 seconds every day and we all get to choose exactly what we do with that time. The truth is most of us waste so much of that time with things that bring us no value and that don’t contribute to your real goals in life. If you really want to binge-watch Netflix and that’s a goal of yours, then go for it. But if you are wondering why you aren’t in the best shape possible and why you can’t lose 20 lbs, then you don’t have to look very far.
Time is the one resource we all have the exact same of. You can’t buy more of it and you can’t outsmart the clock. A billionaire still only has 24 hours in a day. The difference is what they choose to focus that time on. I promise you- athletes, billionaires, and highly successful people in any field don’t even have a Netflix account!
The first step to carving out more time for things like fitness and weight loss is seeing where your time goes now. Conduct an audit and list all the things you do in a day and how much time it takes.
How much time do you spend on social media?
How much time do you spend playing the latest game on your phone?
How much time do you spend worrying or feeling anxious about everything and nothing?
The honest truth is you need 20-30 minutes a day of YOU time.
That time can be spent working out, going for a walk, reading a book, meditating, or just sitting alone with your thoughts. Whatever you need to live a more relaxed and healthier lifestyle.
For those of you who still think you have NO TIME, go listen to this week’s podcast, episode #17 – Making Time When You Have No Time, where we discuss all of this in detail. Plus, we give you lots of tips and tricks that take NO ADDITIONAL TIME to help you lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.
